High Street Haul

Hi guys! Today I'm going to be showing you some new clothing I picked up in the high street in Cork city recently. I wanted to update my wardrobe and find some nice pieces that I can wear now and coming into summer because we are in such a transitional period with the weather right now.
So the first item I picked up was the denim embroidered skirt from Penney's. It has a really nice floral pattern embroidered here on the sides of it and has a zip detail down the middle of it. I thought this skirt would be perfect to wear now with tights and boots or in summer paired with sandals. I sometimes find it difficult to find a skirt that fits me correctly but this one fits me well and the material is really nice too. I picked it up in a size 8 and it retails for €17.

Next in Penney's I picked up this pants which I will pair with the next top too. These are black and white polka dot print trousers and they are a stretchy material. I'm a bit obsessed with these pants. I don't own any other print trousers cause they're a bit outside of my comfort zone but I love that these ones are black and have a simple print. I picked them up in size 12 and it turns out I should have gotten a size 10 so I'll either return them and get the right size or just wear them with a belt. These retail for around €12.

The item I got next was to pair with the pants but you can wear this top with almost anything. I think this top with the pants and a pair of heels will make a great outfit. This top was also form Penney's. It has a ruffle top with cold shoulder detail. I picked up a size 8 and it retails for €11 and was also available in other colours. The only issue I have with this top is that the straps are too long on it so I'm going to have to get that altered a bit.

The next item I purchased was this print sweatshirt from H&M. I love wearing these style jumpers on a daily basis. They are super comfortable and look nice with any type of bottoms. I picked up the size Small and this jumper retails for €8.

The final item I picked up is my absolute favourite thing from this haul. This denim button up pinafore from H&M is going to be new go to outfit. This is super versatile and very flattering on.

Testing make up brushes from Lidl?!

Hi guys! Today I'm going to be reviewing the Miomare professional cosmetic brush set from Lidl. I was in Lidl last week and saw these. They were only €5 and I thought they would make an interesting blog post. This is an eight piece set that includes a powder brush, a blush brush, an eye shadow brush, a mascara wand, a lip brush, an eyeliner brush, an eye shadow applicator and  a brush roll . All the brushes are 100% synthetic. There were a few different colours of the brush rolls but I just got the black faux leather one. I was testing these brushes out over the weekend and I have some mixed feeling about them. My favourite brushes in this set are the powder and the blush blushes. I also really like the mascara wand. However I didn't enjoy the rest of the brushes. The eyeshadow brush did not apply product on my eyelid very well. The eyeshadow applicator, eyeliner and lip brushes weren't very useful for me. I don't usually use these tools when applying my make up anyway ...

Upcycling my bedside locker

Hi! Today I wanted to show you a piece of furniture I recently upcycled. I have this bedside locker for a few years. However the top of it have been damaged by nail varnish and it has some wear and tear marks. I decided to paint it one of my favourite colours from Dulux which is Mid Shadow. I picked up everything I needed from Bandon Co-Op Retail and Garden Centre. I will link what I bought down below.  I started by cleaning the locker with a damp cloth and then waited for it to dry. I removed the drawer knobs. Then I lightly sanded down the surfaces with some sanding paper. This creates a key for the paint to adhere to when you are applying it. I started applying my satinwood to the locker. I decided to purchase the water based satinwood as it drys quickly and is more environmentally friendly. It took about 4 coats however you can buy an undercoat too to reduce the amount of coats you need to apply.  For the drawer knobs I decided the keep them and spray paint...

Moo Goo Shampoo Review

I realise I am late to discovering this shampoo but nevertheless it deserves a review. I picked up the Moo Goo shampoo in my local chemist last week after a friend recommended it to me. I must admit I have been obsessed every since. I have dry hair and over the years I feel like I have tried every shampoo on the market for dry hair. It wasn't until I discovered the Garnier Ultimate Blends shampoo did my hair improve at all however sometimes even that doesn't work for my hair. It can be frustrating as using hair masks can make my hair go greasy faster and my scalp would still be dry. Since I started using the Moo Goo shampoo my hair looks more hydrated and there is no dryness on my scalp. This shampoo is a little more expensive than your average bottle of shampoo however I believe it is worth every penny. This shampoo is excellent and also leaves a lovely shine.   Available at:  https://moogoo.ie/scalp-friendly-milk-shampoo Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC...
