Penney's My Colour Perfect Velvet Finish Foundation

Hi guys! Today I'm going to be reviewing the Penney's My Colour Perfect Velvet Finish Foundation. I wore this to a family gathering recently and I decided to give it a test. I actually forgot to take a picture of me wearing the foundation before guests arrived so here's a picturing of me wearing the foundation featuring my boyfriend instead.
So firstly lets talk about the packaging I think this is really nice quality packaging for a €6 foundation. It is a frosted glass bottle with black writing and includes a dropper for easy application. I picked up the shade ivory but I must admit the shade range for Penney's is quiet good. It includes shades for people with pale skin like me and also has deeper shades for people with a darker skin tone. The shade ivory on me is probably just a tiny bit too dark on me but I can get away with it. I applied this foundation with a damp beauty sponge and I was impressed with the coverage. It has medium to full coverage and didn't look cakey on my skin at all. The foundation does dry to a velvet finish just as it claims to and I think this finish is great for people with dry skin like myself but I think this finish would really work for all skin types. I wore this foundation for about 8 hours and I think it held up as well as most foundations. The only issue I had with this is that it did break up around me chin area but using a powder can prevent this from happening.
Overall I think this is a really nice foundation especially for €6. I'd definitely recommend giving it a go if you're looking for an extremely affordable foundation.
Available at Penney's stores.

Testing make up brushes from Lidl?!

Hi guys! Today I'm going to be reviewing the Miomare professional cosmetic brush set from Lidl. I was in Lidl last week and saw these. They were only €5 and I thought they would make an interesting blog post. This is an eight piece set that includes a powder brush, a blush brush, an eye shadow brush, a mascara wand, a lip brush, an eyeliner brush, an eye shadow applicator and  a brush roll . All the brushes are 100% synthetic. There were a few different colours of the brush rolls but I just got the black faux leather one. I was testing these brushes out over the weekend and I have some mixed feeling about them. My favourite brushes in this set are the powder and the blush blushes. I also really like the mascara wand. However I didn't enjoy the rest of the brushes. The eyeshadow brush did not apply product on my eyelid very well. The eyeshadow applicator, eyeliner and lip brushes weren't very useful for me. I don't usually use these tools when applying my make up anyway ...

Upcycling my bedside locker

Hi! Today I wanted to show you a piece of furniture I recently upcycled. I have this bedside locker for a few years. However the top of it have been damaged by nail varnish and it has some wear and tear marks. I decided to paint it one of my favourite colours from Dulux which is Mid Shadow. I picked up everything I needed from Bandon Co-Op Retail and Garden Centre. I will link what I bought down below.  I started by cleaning the locker with a damp cloth and then waited for it to dry. I removed the drawer knobs. Then I lightly sanded down the surfaces with some sanding paper. This creates a key for the paint to adhere to when you are applying it. I started applying my satinwood to the locker. I decided to purchase the water based satinwood as it drys quickly and is more environmentally friendly. It took about 4 coats however you can buy an undercoat too to reduce the amount of coats you need to apply.  For the drawer knobs I decided the keep them and spray paint...

Moo Goo Shampoo Review

I realise I am late to discovering this shampoo but nevertheless it deserves a review. I picked up the Moo Goo shampoo in my local chemist last week after a friend recommended it to me. I must admit I have been obsessed every since. I have dry hair and over the years I feel like I have tried every shampoo on the market for dry hair. It wasn't until I discovered the Garnier Ultimate Blends shampoo did my hair improve at all however sometimes even that doesn't work for my hair. It can be frustrating as using hair masks can make my hair go greasy faster and my scalp would still be dry. Since I started using the Moo Goo shampoo my hair looks more hydrated and there is no dryness on my scalp. This shampoo is a little more expensive than your average bottle of shampoo however I believe it is worth every penny. This shampoo is excellent and also leaves a lovely shine.   Available at:  https://moogoo.ie/scalp-friendly-milk-shampoo Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC...
