First impressions: Carter Beauty Zodiac palettes

Hi guys! Today I'm going to be testing out the brand new palettes from Carter Beauty. I haven't tried this brand before but I have heard a lot of good reviews. They just launched the Zodiac Collection which includes two palettes and a few pairs of eyelashes. I don't have the lashes to try out but I do have both of the palettes. I was drawn to these when I saw them swatched on the Carter Beauty Instagram stories. The pigmentation looked incredible. I ordered these off the Cara Pharmacy website which I will leave a link to down below. The palettes are called the Zodiac palette and the Saturn palette. Each palette has three eyeshadow shades and then a contour, highlight and blush shade. Initially I thought that these palettes looked quite similar to one another however as you can tell from the swatches they are a little different. The Zodaic palette shades weren't as impressive as the Saturn palette shades. The Saturn eyeshadows are so unlike any formula I have ever tried before. They are as smooth as butter and they are so pigmented with glitter reflects. I must say I was very impressed with the Saturn palette and I do like the Zodiac palette as well. However the highlighter does crumble and it's not the most blinding highlighter I have ever used. Overall I do like these palettes and I think for the price they are impressive. I would recommend checking out this brand and supporting Irish make up brands.

Testing make up brushes from Lidl?!

Hi guys! Today I'm going to be reviewing the Miomare professional cosmetic brush set from Lidl. I was in Lidl last week and saw these. They were only €5 and I thought they would make an interesting blog post. This is an eight piece set that includes a powder brush, a blush brush, an eye shadow brush, a mascara wand, a lip brush, an eyeliner brush, an eye shadow applicator and  a brush roll . All the brushes are 100% synthetic. There were a few different colours of the brush rolls but I just got the black faux leather one. I was testing these brushes out over the weekend and I have some mixed feeling about them. My favourite brushes in this set are the powder and the blush blushes. I also really like the mascara wand. However I didn't enjoy the rest of the brushes. The eyeshadow brush did not apply product on my eyelid very well. The eyeshadow applicator, eyeliner and lip brushes weren't very useful for me. I don't usually use these tools when applying my make up anyway ...

Upcycling my bedside locker

Hi! Today I wanted to show you a piece of furniture I recently upcycled. I have this bedside locker for a few years. However the top of it have been damaged by nail varnish and it has some wear and tear marks. I decided to paint it one of my favourite colours from Dulux which is Mid Shadow. I picked up everything I needed from Bandon Co-Op Retail and Garden Centre. I will link what I bought down below.  I started by cleaning the locker with a damp cloth and then waited for it to dry. I removed the drawer knobs. Then I lightly sanded down the surfaces with some sanding paper. This creates a key for the paint to adhere to when you are applying it. I started applying my satinwood to the locker. I decided to purchase the water based satinwood as it drys quickly and is more environmentally friendly. It took about 4 coats however you can buy an undercoat too to reduce the amount of coats you need to apply.  For the drawer knobs I decided the keep them and spray paint...

Moo Goo Shampoo Review

I realise I am late to discovering this shampoo but nevertheless it deserves a review. I picked up the Moo Goo shampoo in my local chemist last week after a friend recommended it to me. I must admit I have been obsessed every since. I have dry hair and over the years I feel like I have tried every shampoo on the market for dry hair. It wasn't until I discovered the Garnier Ultimate Blends shampoo did my hair improve at all however sometimes even that doesn't work for my hair. It can be frustrating as using hair masks can make my hair go greasy faster and my scalp would still be dry. Since I started using the Moo Goo shampoo my hair looks more hydrated and there is no dryness on my scalp. This shampoo is a little more expensive than your average bottle of shampoo however I believe it is worth every penny. This shampoo is excellent and also leaves a lovely shine.   Available at:  https://moogoo.ie/scalp-friendly-milk-shampoo Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC...
